We welcome ideas that engage peacebuilding and conflict transformation from a range of disciplines, traditions, communities, and forms of practice. We are especially interested in work that brings theological reflection into conversation with lived experience, research, history, culture, psychology, public life, ministry, or the practice of peacebuilding itself.

We are currently considering pitches for:

• Essays and commentary, including multi-part series

• Opinion pieces

• Book reviews

• Practitioner reflections and field notes

• Interviews and conversations

• Research-informed and scholarly articles

• Other formats that contribute meaningfully to the study or practice of peacebuilding and conflict transformation

Strong pitches should present a clear idea, argument, perspective, or question worth exploring. While published work may engage current events and public debates, we are particularly interested in contributions that move beyond immediate reaction to offer deeper analysis, interpretation, reflection, or insight.

We welcome pitches from both established and emerging voices with original ideas to contribute to the study and practice of peacebuilding and conflict transformation. You do not need to be affiliated with Fuller Seminary or hold an academic position to contribute.

Contributors may include scholars, pastors, theologians, peacebuilding practitioners, researchers, community leaders, students, artists, and professionals working in fields that intersect with conflict and human flourishing.

We particularly welcome perspectives and areas of expertise that are underrepresented in Christian peacebuilding conversations.

CPCT offers an honorarium for commissioned contributions, with amounts determined by the scope, format, length, and research requirements of the piece. Honoraria typically range from $100 to $750. Short-form contributions, including book reviews, generally receive $100–$150, while longer scholarly or research-intensive work and commissioned series may receive up to $750.

The honorarium, scope of work, and editorial expectations will be confirmed with the contributor prior to commissioning.

Your pitch should include:

• A working title

• Approximately 200–300 words describing the idea, central argument or question, and why it matters

• The format you are proposing

• A short biography

• A link to or copy of one or two relevant writing samples, if available

If your idea seems like a strong fit, a member of the CPCT team will contact you to discuss the piece, editorial expectations, timeline, and honorarium.

Because our publishing capacity is limited, we will not be able to commission every idea we receive. Submission of a pitch does not guarantee publication.

Publication & Rights

Contributors to CPCT publications retain copyright in their original work while granting CPCT and Fuller Seminary the rights necessary to publish, distribute, archive, and promote commissioned pieces. Authors may subsequently republish or adapt their work with acknowledgment of its original publication by CPCT. Contributors are expected to adhere to CPCT's standards for originality, attribution, research integrity, and responsible use of generative AI. Full publication terms and the agreed honorarium are provided before a piece is commissioned.

CPCTis not obligated to publish submitted work and reserves the right to change publication dates and/or choose not to publish a piece that has been accepted in writing. For unpublished but accepted work, CPCT pays 25% of the committed honorarium.

Generative AI may support limited editorial and technical aspects of manuscript preparation, but it may not substitute for the author's original thinking, research, analysis, argumentation, or writing.
